Progress

Hi everyone

Today, I have been focusing primarily on continuing my work on my new sugar cane farm. I am still waiting with my village until I can finish an expansion on my tree farm, and instead chose to focus on continuing my sugar cane farm first. Not too much progress today though, as I have been very busy. But today I got the farm ready for cultivation, so all that I need to do now before it is ready, will be to plant my sugar canes, and encase the thing in glass. So it's moving along pretty good. Though I am hoping to be able to continue my work on my village soon, but for that I still need my tree farm, so that will be my next priority after finishing this farm.

My current progress on my sugar cane farm. The water has been placed down, and covered with stone slabs to act as walkways. At the moment, the only thing that is lacking here, is the addition of the glass frame for the farm, as well as the sugar canes themselves, which shall be the next step in my project.

Current progress on my new village

Finally I am back from my inactivity. Hopefully I will be able to keep up a higher degree of activity and progress than I have been having recently. Been way too busy with school and stuff to even think about playing Minecraft, but today I was finally able to find time to spare for the game. So here's today's progress.

I was originally planning and hoping to be able to finish my new observation deck first before doing anything else in my newly established village, but I quickly reconsidered and the made the decision to finish the basic infrastructure first, before starting to expand. Because when my observation deck is finished, everything would be read to commence on constructing the first few houses for my village. So I decided to halt progress on my observatory, and instead focus on getting the first infrastructure ready. And for me, infrastructure equals to constructing the first roads for the village. I decided to recycle and slightly change the designs I have been using on my previous roads, for this new one, and it turned out pretty good in my opinion. The only thing that annoys me a bit, is that my new design collided with an already existing design that was being constructed from long ago. So what I had to do, was to implement my new design. I do not destroy or remove my old builds unless it is absolutely necessary, so what I ended up doing was to just expand upon the old design with my new one, and basically mending the two together. Thankfully my old design was not too far into its construction, meaning it did not turn into the biggest problem I have ever faced.
The design I ended up with for my current project. Notice the base of my observation deck which is visible on the right hand side of the screenshot. In the background, a small Sugar Cane farm I am working on can be seen

Looking over my progress from high above in my primary observation deck. I was originally intending to take this screenshot from a lower altitude, but had to go higher up because of obstructions blocking my view
As we can see from my screenshots, all that I really lack at the moment, is to get my street lights up and running, which I will have to do later. I am also currently experimenting with using quartz slabs, rather than the stone slabs I normally use for the walkways. I am hoping that I will be able to continue construction of my new observation deck soon, but with my current status, I will primarily focus my attention on finishing this new walkway, and than I will probably add an expansion to my tree farm. Because with my current consumption of birch wood for the planned village, my tree farm has been absolutely driven to its maximum capacity, and that capacity is not even close to providing me with the wood I need in the future. And also I'm currently working on a sugar cane farm as a side project, to provide me with paper I can trade for emeralds, which will provide me with a steady source of glowstone, which I will use in plentiful when the time comes to constructing the first few houses.

I will try to keep up my progress, but with my current life situation, I cannot make any promises.

Back from the dead...

Yeah I have not been all too good at keeping my blog updated. I have been very busy recently, and thus I have not had any time to spare to play Minecraft. As a matter of fact, I have barely even touched a game at all for the past two weeks. I have been spending most of my time preparing for a major test I am due for in school tomorrow, which is why I have not been able to update my blog. But today I was finally able to find time to spare for my blog, and thus I will now go back to publishing at least one post for now. And than I will try to keep myself active enough to keep playing Minecraft so that I can post more posts here.

Studies studies...

Yeah I have not been too good at updating my blog here in the past two months. I am currently very busy with my studies, and thus I have not been able to invest any time into playing Minecraft. I am however intending on firing up the game today, and make more progress on my current projects, so more posts should be on their way. My primary goal for now, is to connect my jungle base to my transportation network, so that I may enjoy the most recent updates in Minecraft. I still have left to find a parrot or any of the other new features that has come out in the past three months. So it will be fun. And hopefully I will be able to post more than I have done up until now. But I will have to see what I can do about that, because I am very busy with my studies, so I will have to do take it as it comes as I move along.
