Smelting and clearing

Hi everyone!

Not much really to post about today. I have been very busy today, so I was only able to cramp in about an hour worth of work into Minecraft. Today was thus spent harvesting more sand to be smelted into glass, and clearing an area for future expansion. I need a lot more sugar canes for my EXP farming, and I need greenhouses for the rest of my growing resources, so I have cleared out a small area where I can build a couple of greenhouses. I am also planning on terraforming the lands around the greenhouses, but time will tell how I end up doing it all.

So yeah, really short post today, but this is where I stand at the moment.

Looking over my sand mines. From here I have harvested thousands of blocks of sand, which have all been melted down to glass

A small section of land cleared out and ready for future expansion with greenhouses. Due to the rugged terrain, I ended up making kind of a platform on which the greenhouses can be built.

A full inventory of sand ready to be smelted
I will post more as I make more progress

Greenhouses and railways

Hi everyone!

So today, I decided to continue my progress on my transportation network over at my primary base. I was finally able to connect a new station to the network, which means that I may now travel from my base, to my jungle cube, which is basically a large glass cube surrounding a small tree farm composed of only jungle trees.

I also laid down the foundation for an upcoming station, which will connect my sheep farm to my transportation network. Although my sheep farm is literally right next to my base, and the fact that I have already connected it long ago through a basic minecart railway, I'd much rather have it be so that I may travel there in style. I have a sky road, walkway, built up which makes it possible for me to run over to my sheep farm, but minecarts is still my preferred method of transportation. So, a station shall be added sometime in the future. I have already put down the beginning of the tube leading up there. All I need to do now will be to add the glass, the tracks, plus the station itself. It will be interesting to say the least.

Meanwhile, over at my secondary base and primary observation deck, I came to the conclusion that I am tired of having a large, messy area, which serves no purpose. This was an old stretch of land, which I used to build my first walkway long ago, that lead from my primary base, to my secondary base, which at the time was only a small wooden structure, and the foundation for my now decommissioned mob grinder. Although the mob grinder was decommissioned long ago, the original walkway I built have remained until today. What I ended up doing, was to clean up the area just outside my secondary base (which also contains my primary mines), and instead build a small greenhouse there. It's not exactly the biggest thing in the world, which is quite natural, considering the limited space I had in such a highly developed and crowded sector, but it serves a purpose I have a good use of. The greenhouse has been designated to cultivate sugar canes for the time being, which is good for grinding the EXP I need to support my constant repairs on my tools and other things I need to continue my work on my world.

So that is where I am at the moment. A new greenhouse and a brand new station have now seen the light of day. In the upcoming days I will primarily focus on getting my next station set up, and also to complete my "chandelier" over at my new observatory. All I lack is the glowstone required to build the massive glowstone ball I want there, so it won't take too much time if I can just get the stones required. At the moment I have two rows completed, but there still remains much to be done, so I will need a lot more glowstone before I can call it finished. I must say though that there remains plenty of other plans I have for my world, so I might end up changing my plans and do something very different as I move along.

I will update as I make more progress.

The "skeleton" of my brand new station as it looked like before I added the exterior. This thing here makes it possible to travel from ground level to my network (at height level 100) with minecarts without having to worry about walking or anything like that

Midway progress on my new station. Adding dirt as scaffold so that I can put down birch wood with the right direction down

Looking down at my progress during a break I had. My station is nearing completion at this point

Clearing the area just outside my secondary base, in preparations for adding the new greenhouse

Midway progress on my greenhouse. My greenhouse was completed today, but I forgot to screenshot its completed look, so this is what will have to do for the time being
Having a quick break during my work in order to add some scaffolds to my treefarm, in the jungle tree section. These scaffolds will make it possible for me to harvest the top of the trees without worry

My current progress on my transportation network. The station has now been completed, and I focus my attention on bringing the network to the point where I can connect my sheep farm to it
I unfortunately forgot to screenshot my greenhouse upon its completion, so I will have to add a screenshot of it in my next post.

See you guys around later

Progressive infrastructure 2.0

Hi everyone!

Today, I made the decision to continue my work on expanding my infrastructure at my primary base. My current goal is to connect my jungle cube, to the network, so that I can ride by minecart from my secondary observatory all the way over to my jungle cube, from which I can walk to a tree farm that I once chose to construct, but never got around to completing.

I ran out of birch wood, so I had to spend a great deal of time today just on gathering more. Two full tree farms from my main farm was gathered, so I should have enough wood for alot of progress now. I hope.

So yeah, not really much to report on this. I have halted my observation deck over at my upcoming village for the time being. Feels great getting around to doing something different for a change, so I may end up expanding my infrastructure even further tomorrow.

Progressive infrastructure

Hi everyone!

So today, I decided to take a break from my observatory deck and focus on something else for a change. What I ended up expanding upon, is my long-delayed secondary railway network, which I have constructed in the airspace above my base. This project has been halted for quite a long while, so it feels good getting back into it, connecting the different parts of my base. The biggest hassle I face on a day to day basis in my world, is just getting from point A to point B within my primary base. I have my walkways, which works perfectly fine for the shorter walks, but if I am to get from one end of my base to the other, such as if I am to go from my EXP farm over to my new observatory, that's a good five minutes of just walking and running back and forth. And I am not taking into consideration if I have any runs I need to make for my resources, or if I get stuck repairing something along the way, because I am quite the perfectionist when it comes to certain details, so more often than not I get stuck on some different project along the way and never get to my destination. What I need is a quick and efficient way of getting from point to point, without getting distracted, and without having to walk, which is both slow, and very inefficient. Thus I commenced constructing an intricate system of railways that connects the different parts of my base together. The main line was completed over a year ago, but the project stalled after that, because I did not bother to continue it any further. All I cared about at the time was to connect my primary base, to my roller coaster and my old EXP farm. My world have changed quite a bit since than, so it's about time I get around to expanding the network. I have not constructed any new connective points yet which will allow me to access the railway from the ground level, but I have gotten a new section of the network ready. All I really need to do now, is to construct an elevator tower, and cover the walls of the "tube" in white stained glass.

It turns out pretty good if I may say so myself. And when completed it will hopefully make my everyday life in my base a lot easier and better. There are still a lot to be done though, so this is just a drop in the water when it comes to my vision.

Looking down at my progress from my secondary observatory. The newly constructed portion of my transportation network can be seen in the middle of the screenshot, next to my glass cube, and above my sheep farm.
I will keep updating as I make more progress on my network.

Mining for diamonds

The title would say it all in its own. Ran out of diamonds today after making some repairs on my equipment, and I thus had to halt all progress on all projects until I was able to find more. Spent an hour mining for the diamonds I needed, and I ended up with 11of them before calling it sufficient for the time being. It will not last for long, but it will keep me supplied for the current plans I have for finishing my observatory, and also expanding my reserves of glass and sand.

Inventory after completing my mining run.

My current progress on my primary mines.
So that's my current resource standing. I have plenty of everything else I need beside glass, so hopefully I should not run into any major difficulties for the time being.

Finally progress

Hi everyone!

Yes I know its been quite a while since I last updated my blog here. I have been very busy recently with school and stuff, but today I was finally able to spare some time to make more progress in my survival world.

Due to time restrictions, I made the decision that starting the planned project with terraforming my jungle biome will be too time consuming and too expensive, and thus this project has been put on ice until further notice. What I have been able to make more progress on though, is my new observation deck. I have now covered the thing in glass, and have gotten all the lights put down. The only thing I lack now before I can top this all of as a success, is to construct a large ball of glowstone in the top portion of the observatory, underneath its glass roof. At the moment I have run out of glowstone, so I will have to find more before I can continue my project. I am pretty sure I have some stored somewhere in my world, I just need to find it.

So that's my current standing. I am hoping I will be able to finish my observatory soon, so that I can begin working on my village at full throttle.

The glass roof has now been completed. Here's the view from the top of my tower, prior to putting down lights.

Interior. Night time view. Note the lack of glass walls here, which is what I would add next

Looking up at the finished roof

All the glasswork completed. Daytime view from inside my observatory

Looking at my almost completed observatory from a distance. All the lights have been added now, and all that is missing now is the ball of glowstone, the foundation of which can be seen inside the roof of the observatory
I will try to be more active, but I cannot promise anything as I am very busy with school these days. I will update as soon as I have made more progress
