Damage control - this can become ugly

Well this is rather... Unfortunate. I recently updated my world to the most recent of snapshot, and my experiences with this so far has been pretty much only negative. Many of my chunks are generating anew, and the consequence of this is that some of my older builds are getting destroyed. So far I have lost a smaller section of my old transportation network, and perhaps worst of all: my entire gold farm, which I am absolutely dependent on for iron, has been largely destroyed because of this. My old chunks, with all my progress, are gone, and in their place are fresh, new chunks, or a mixture of old and new, cause some of my chunks has gotten a new look right in the middle of them.

I am not sure if this is just a bug that I am alone about experiencing, but I will have to do some damage control tomorrow, and if my world is too damaged, I might be forced into reverting back to one of my backups. Luckily for me, I have been frequent with my backups, but it will a huge loss for me if I lose all my progress on expanding my transportation network. We are talking at least 2days worth of progress down the drain if I choose to revert, and thats not taking into account all my smelting and mining, which in its own is very expensive to recoup.


At the moment theres nothing I can do. I will perform a full damage control tomorrow, and than I will make a decision from what I see. But my iron farm is officially lost, which will seriously hamper my further progress with my world if I so choose to keep my current progress and just keep on pushing through the current snapshot.
